FattyOps is a subscription software service delivered over text message. You tell it what you eat; it does arithmetic and sends you information about it. It is operated by David Moss as a sole proprietor in Kirkland, Washington.
It is not medical advice and it is not a clinician. Nothing it says diagnoses, treats, or prevents anything. It does not know your medical history beyond what you tell it, and it can be wrong — it will tell you when it has been. Anything clinical goes to an actual doctor. FattyOps is delivered entirely by text message. There is no app and no dashboard, so agreeing to receive texts is not an add-on you can decline and still have a service — the messages are the service.
What you get. Replies to what you text in (food, weight, photos), weigh-in reminders at a time learned from your own habits, and periodic progress summaries. Nothing promotional, ever. We do not advertise to you and we do not let anybody else advertise to you.
How often. Message frequency varies and depends on how much you text. An active day can run to a dozen messages each way; a quiet one may be none. Expect roughly 5–50 a month.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. That is between you and your carrier. We charge the subscription; your carrier charges for the messages, if it charges at all.
Stopping. Reply STOP to any message — also STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT — and the messages stop immediately. Because the messages are the service, that also stops the billing: your subscription is set to end at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep that period. Reply START within it and everything simply carries on. After it, there is nothing left to resume and you would sign up again. Reply HELP, or write to [email protected].
Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We cannot guarantee a message arrives, and neither can they.
Who can use it. US mobile numbers, 18 or over. Some carriers will not deliver to some numbers, and there is nothing either of us can do about that.
$12.99 per month, billed monthly through Stripe, renewing until you cancel. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by text.
Text CANCEL to the number. We reply asking you to confirm; you confirm; it is done. Billing stops immediately and you keep access through the period you already paid for. No forms, no phone call, no retention offers. Text STOP to end all messages at any time, which also cancels.
Text DELETE and everything you have given us is erased within 30 days, including from our processors. See the Privacy Policy and the Consumer Health Data Policy.
One person per subscription. Do not use the service to harass anyone, including yourself. We may end an account that does, and refund the unused part.
The service is provided as-is. Decisions about what you eat are yours. Our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
